Everything was excellent. All staff were friendly, polite and helpful. The food was amazing and the castle was spotless. A real enjoyable stay. Will definitely return.
This charming family-run hotel has a great restaurant and a wonderful, peaceful location on Whitby’s West Cliff, near the seafront and within walking distance of the town centre.

Clean, comfortable rooms. Excellent helpful staff & service. Dining was a great relaxed service, nothing too much trouble. Private car park a big plus.
Situated in the centre of Whitby, the George Hotel has a lively bar with Sky Sports and BT Sport on large screens and several entertainment nights per week.
The rooms were all refurbished and the staff great.

Whitby is my favourite town. It’s so full of history and hasn’t been ruined by new buildings. There are plenty of cafes and shops. The Abbey makes a very interesting visit.
However, the parking rules & prices are annoying.

Wonderful and busy resort, lots of little cafes, traditional pubs and restaurants. Shops were very quaint and lots of crafts.
Its very hilly and streets are sometimes cobbled so you could struggle if you have walking difficulties or use walking aids or mobility scooter/wheelchair.

We love Whitby!
We love Whitby!
Been before so know it quite well…the ambience of the town with bustling harbour and the old cobbled streets across the estuary. A few miles from the NY Moors and a totally different landscape. Easy transport links including the steam train. Proper seaside holiday destination.

Love Whitby.
Love Whitby. There is plenty to do, great eating out and it’s easy to walk anywhere if you are reasonably fit. The Abbey is stunning and the events/drama staged are amazing. Equally, there are superb places to visit like Robin Hood’s Bay, Saltburn and Sandsend close by. My very favourite English seaside town.
Favourite places to eat: Abbey Wharf and Cranberry Swamp (for breakfast)
We ate at Pescado Lounge on this trip: great food.

it was lovely to stroll to the end of the harbour and check out the beach, we had a lovely meal at Terrys a great meal and lovely people.
We did not eat at Magpies as it was always busy with a queue.
The life boat museum was interesting
The Captain's Rest is a cosy pied à terre located in the heart of Whitby: a perfect location in terms of accessing the vibrant heart of Whitby. The accommodation is more than adequate like a hotel room (but much larger). It is very good value for money. The room has a fridge and kettle etc Wi-Fi and TV and excellent storage space plus a desk! The system for accessing the property was very good but took some "getting used to." There is a public car park literally 30 metres from the property which costs £9 for 24 hours.
I booked for 2 nights for a solo birthday treat at this hotel based in a pub and was so impressed! My room was up a very unprepossesing flight of narrow stairs those with mobility problems may have a problem) and let myself into an absolute surprise of room! Well decorated, well presented, absolutely comfortable, and sparkling clean. Fabulous views over Whitby harbour. I booked bed and breakfast with my room, and each morning, I had an amazing, freshly cooked breakfast.
Very friendly hosts
Beautifully decorated spotlessly clean B&B with extra special little touches eg fresh milk for tea & coffee making facilities in the rooms, mini bar with lagers, prosecco & pop, and the comfiest bed.
Fabulous choice at breakfast with fresh fruit, yoghurts & cereals as well as a choice of hot freshly cooked breakfast.
Free parking
Ideally located for Robin Hoods Bay, Whitby, Staithes & Scarborough
Will definitely visit again, highly recommended
We have just returned from a long weekend stay at the Resolution Hotel and we couldn’t have stayed in a nicer hotel, the staff were all helpful and friendly, the hotel rooms were spotless and the bar and resturant all well stocked, our breakfast each day was delicious - we have booked again for 2022 and can’t wait to return to Whitby - thank you to all the staff at the Resolution for making our stay a great one.
The property was in a perfect location in Whitby, very quiet.
There was parking right outside the door.
The rooms were all very spacious and comfortable.
The kitchen was like a home to home.
Linen was fresh and spotless.
Ease of check-in check-out was fantastic.
Couldn't use the back exit due to it being co-owned with the neighbours.
Will definitely book again through this company. Host and stay.
La Rosa Hotel is a unique, wonderful little place with lovely staff and really fantastic views of Whitby bay.
The breakfast is a great touch and I recommend the bloody Mary!
The one thing I'd suggest to people is to bring a multi usb plug, as with all older properties the plug sockets are limited, but we always bring one for charging phones, etc. The room was so unique it really didn't matter.
Excellent location in a back street of Whitby just 20 seconds to the harbour front. Despite being so close to the harbour front, it was very quiet at the property for the most part. I was pleased with the value for money considering my stay was during a bank holiday weekend with excellent weather. Though a small property, there was enough space for 4 adults. Free parking permits were provided.
Staff friendly and efficient food and bar very good. location a convenient short bus ride to centre and harbour with bus stop at door and short walk to supermarket. The car park is big enough with wide spaces. I was very happy with our stay and pleased with my choice of this property. Many thanks to all the staff.
Probably the quirkiest location we’ve ever stayed in, absolutely fabulous. Even though you’re smack bang in the middle of the harbour it still felt really tranquil. From the outside it doesn’t look big, but the layout inside is well conceived and feels roomy. Just a lovely space.
Beautifully furnished, comfortable luxury hotel in great location. Lovely couple, Peter and Julie, happy to offer their extensive knowledge of Whitby to make your stay perfect and we looked forward to our daily catch ups with them. Highly recommended and would love to stay again.
This hotel is exceptional, lovely friendly staff, super room, very comfortable, supplied with Elemis toiletries and lovely thick towelling robes. Excellent food served in the orangery with fabulous view over the bay. Great surrounding area, close to Whitby and Scarborough.
This property offerred privacy and was better than most hotels or airbnbs that we have visited. It was decorated. It provided more than enough space due to having a living room and kitchenette and if I was going back to Whitby, I would not hesitate to return to the Loft.
Fantastic location. Could not fault. Beautiful old building, you could sense the history. Room was bright, clean, and overlooking the harbour and out to the abbey at the other side of the bay. Stunning. Great choice at breakfast of different meals to suit all tastes.
Really nice and spacious room where you can cast to the TV (bonus) also the cooked breakfast was really nice, the staff were really friendly, the hotel is located close to the shops and restaurants and just a short walk down to the front bay
Fabulous location, easy to find and hotel had reserved us a parking bay which made life easy.
We had superior room overlooking the harbour. View was wonderful. Room very spacious and clean. Bed was divine, so comfy.
Breakfast was perfect, room was clean, spacious and had exceptional views, location fantastic, hosts welcoming and friendly. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Whitby. Perfect weekend break.
Staff was great and my room was clean happy with my stay love Whitby hotel is abit dated needs a good painting up when the season as ended but great views so I was happy
